Take No Substitute
..So there in many ways is an encouragement but also a warning. That is a final warning that he’s giving here to the churches. Fight it! If we feel ourselves going sleepy – not on fire for the Lord as we used to be – sometimes you have got to fight it. Overcome it, don’t accept it, don’t accept the second best. All is the very best that God gives, and what could be better than giving His life.. love.. presence to us. Why you cannot find anything greater than that. Do not take a substitute.. second best.
Keep Awake.. Caught Up!
Always expect and believe God’s love.. presence.. power. In other words I’m caught up with Him alone and I do not have any time for anything else. That’s what our life should be with God. And yet we find that we have more time for the world and the things of the world than we do for the things of God. It is time to wake, it is not a time to start sleeping like those foolish virgins. Allow the power of the Spirit to keep you awake – to keep you alive in Christ – caught up with the things of God.. ..
