Are You Looking To Heaven?

Are You Looking To Heaven?

Are You Looking To Heaven? – Pastor Kim – 16th Oct’16

John 14:2 In My Father’s house there are many dwelling places (homes). If it were not so, I would have told you; for I am going away to prepare a place for you.

For the rapture to take place it has first to take place in the heart – in the spirit

Luke 11:2

So He said to them, “When you pray, say:

Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.

 Dwelling Places

In looking to heaven the Jesus disciple desires and prays to see heaven even now upon this earth – a foretaste of what he/she is being prepared for.

Our environment plays a big part in how we feel, how we act, how we come over, can we not have a little bit of heaven starting to come in our homes – in our dwelling places?

are-you-looking-to-heaven2If we are to become heavenly minded and to taste of heaven here on earth then it is to start with you and me.  It doesn’t matter how big your house is or what your house looks like – it doesn’t take allot to bring joy peace and happiness into a home no matter how modest it might be.  It doesn’t take allot to make a home clean and comfortable.

It doesn’t cost allot to buy detergent or a bar of soap.  The Kingdom of Heaven is going to be a clean spotless place.

Embracing Heaven

God wants us to start to embrace heaven – and you look towards something don’t you if it’s in your heart.  So if this is working in your heart then you are looking towards something.

If you love someone then you are going to be looking at that person, that’s always a sign that you’re in love – because you can’t take your eyes of them – our heart is expressing what it wants to see.  Now our hearts should be expressing more and more – as the Holy Spirit is working in us – that we want to see Jesus.   We see Jesus when we see our brother and sister, when we see the needs, when we come together in oneness and unity and when He speaks to us through the gifts.  This is just a fraction of an image of what we’re destined for – great joy and fellowship with all the resources of heaven.

Heavenly Minded

When you go through your trials which seem  a reflection of hell are you swamped in the negative or are you looking towards and catching a glimpse of heaven

John 8:21-2421 Then Jesus said to them again, “I am going away, and you will seek Me, and will die in your sin. Where I go you cannot come.”22 So the Jews said, “Will He kill Himself, because He says, ‘Where I go you cannot come’?”23 And He said to them, “You are from beneath; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. 24 Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.”
Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

We all look towards something, and God has to work a dislike for this world in our hearts because it’s not clean in His sight.   The scripture tells us that it is all going to pass away – like screwing up a manuscript – the new heavens and new earth will be visibly seen as God’s dwelling place with His holy righteous blood washed saints.

We’re on the brink of something that we can’t fully get our heads around but we know the scriptures tell us clearly.  Nobody in their right mind would put any love affection future desires into building on sand.  If you desire to build a life for yourself your building it on sand.  Maybe we’ve done it at times and things went are-you-looking-to-heaven3wrong because God allows us to go into situations to expose the motive of our hearts to see whether or not we are becoming more heavenly minded. Sometimes we have to see the other side of the coin to see what He’s trying to show us – that in our everyday walking in this world we are to love the Lord and His blessing us  (materially and spiritually) rather than loving the things in the world for there own sake.

1 John 2:15-17 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
James 4:1 Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members?

In Transit

One thing that we can take comfort from – our faith, our waiting, our enduring, our overcoming have also a timeless element to them.  We’re really in transit like at an airport – you can’t go out, you have to remain inside because you’re waiting for the next flight – you’re really in no mans land – you don’t actually belong anywhere because you’re going straight on to another destination – the glory train to heaven.  This is what the Lord is trying to work in our hearts and when this drops from our heads to our hearts this brings abundant blessings.

Father we know that you provide for our everyday needs but there are greater things you want to show now for you are far greater than that.  Release us Lord from the mundane things and help us to be heavenly minded.  Help us to see Father that there is a harvest out there that’s ready and plentiful.  Help us to see Lord the move of Your Spirit to the four corners of the world.
