Don’t Say It’s Not God’s Will To Give You What You Ask

Don't Say It's Not God's Will To Give You What You Ask

Matthew 7:7-12

Asking Seeking and Knocking

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?10 Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent?

11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!12 Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

God has a way with His promises to make us desperate in order to bring us into the light for us to be able to receive from Him.  Any saint who is asking seeking and knocking means business with God – searching and finding out His mind and will.
There’s a sense of desperation with them  for answered prayer, increasing if need be that knocking – increasing the intensity.  To knock and keep knocking is imperative for they will not take a serpent or a stone – substitute.
They’ve searched – they’re examining, they are finding out every little motive detail and evidence of darkness in their life and yielding it up for deliverance and change.
Maybe He’s working humility in us, maybe He’s working so that we become sensitive to His voice – His leading – His Word.  Maybe there are grey areas in relationships; gripes grudges stinginess and resentments; moans, groans and unforgiveness.  All are hinderances to answered prayer – it’s either black or white with God.

1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

James 5:16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Jeremiah 29:13-14 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back from your captivity…

What I hope is that this teaching brings a desparation within our lives and hearts for asking because that’s what this is all about.  But sadly some are fainting and giving up.
Don’t do it because you could just miss out on a great blessing that you have asked for that could be manifested tonight tomorrow or next week.  How silly to go all this way and then to faint when God was about to mightily bless.
Let’s come back to those basic truths of His Word – if you haven’t received yet then find out why.  Go before God, humble yourself and get into His light that He may reveal and show the problem, because it is the will of God to bless you in what you ask for.
This is where He’s glorified, this is where the saints faith is encouraged when they hear these testimonies of what God is doing and has done in the light of what you have asked.
‘whatever it takes I know I have received according to the Word of God’

Heavenly Father thankyou, you love us so much, you’re so patient with us.  We may have heard it a hundred times and yet I believe we have heard it tonight with fresh ears and hearts.  And Lord You have shown us not to give up, not to take a substitute, not to faint but to find out the problem, and you will be faithful to the promise.
