Facing Your Giants

Facing Your Giants

Giants rob God of His glory – it’s the overcomer’s job to defeat them. A polite request – “will you please leave” – will not do it for they are insidiously aggressive. (1Sam17)
Fear causes compromise/running away, but the walk of faith to take back what the enemy has stolen.  Jesus demonstrated this by healing, delivering and weakening Satan’s kindom (Luke 10:17,18).

Giants stand between the church and it’s fulness – the true nature and function of the church is to deal with the giants by not running away.

Israel’s weak leader king Saul – chosen by the people was a compromiser – an outward star with no heart for God. David – separated in the wilderness was not used to man’s feeble efforts (armour) but used the tools he was trained in (pebbles and sling).

Many think it defeatest and unmanly to acknowledge giants, but Jesus Himself acknowleged the giant in Peter (Matthew 16:23). Giants keep you from fulfilling God’s perfect plan.

You can never overcome the giant in yourself – you overcome the giant by facing it. Fear is irrational/panic and pride will bluff rather than admit to running away and cowardice.

3 problems:
—————–
1. Consecration is weak: consecration disposes one to see
2. Lack of a prayer life: – gives boldness to stand and disposes one to press in/warfare.
3. Pride: – causes blindness/can’t see giants

Concl.
———
1.Fear is the no.1 giant that attacks faith and the church is gripped by it, however if you see this don’t gripe but rather take action.

2.Removal of Goliath brought deliverance to Israel, likewise the removal of giants in the church which will dispose it to fulfill God’s plan (Romans 8:19-23)
3.Face your giants and God will equip (Zechariah 4:6)
