…and for those of you taking notes we are calling this teaching ‘Faith Accepts What God Has Given Us In His Word’.
… Father we pray that the seed of your Word may produce that fruit in abundance because you have said that ‘by their fruit they shall be known’
I want to start this off this evening from Romans chapter 10 and I want to take it up from verse 14 onwards…
And here the apostle Paul is speaking [in context] of where Israel rejected the Word of God, and that is why Israel never made it into the Promised Land – because she failed to accept God’s Word and God’s dealings. This has always plagued Israel’s history.
14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how 
shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written:
“How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace,
Who bring glad tidings of good things!”
16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?” 17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
“Their sound has gone out to all the earth,
And their words to the ends of the world.”
Now we know that Israel who was chosen out of all nations was blessed with God’s presence and God’s Word like no other nation ever has or ever will in that sense. And yet we see and we read here that they had a problem with the Word of God that they heard. In other words they didn’t like it.
