We’re talking about ‘ Faith Embraces The Greatness Of Almighty God. ‘ The Apostle here gives us something of our calling and our faith..
Epesians 1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
.. And that is what God is doing today.. today in this meeting. He is giving us that wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. Why is He doing that – because faith needs it. This is what encourages us to believe in the impossible naturally speaking..
18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
.. So he’s speaking of our eyes spiritually being opened. And God is constantly challenging believers to have our eyes opened. Opened to what – the revelation of God’s Word – that our minds and hearts be illumined or quickened.. to believe, that’s what it’s for. The apostle is giving this very clearly..
‘ .. that you may KNOW what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,.. ‘
.. He wants us to know the inheritance that we have in Christ in this calling. If we really knew this we would never doubt any more. We would be seeing what is impossible being made possible..
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
.. This is why I say our faith to believe is not complicated. It’s not hard because it’s about HIS power being made perfect in weakness.. .. ..
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
