 The world’s trials and falling away is reflected in an apostate church which has linked herself to it.  Who has the solution – is it you or me and the world or is it Jesus?  What we say in our trials will show us what spirit we are of.

I want to speak about our walk in the Spirit .. how we still discern

and test things in these days because we without doubt are experiencing a rapid falling away in every way and form, the confusion out in the world sadly even in places in Christendom is simply getting worse.

All of these things God is allowing and it is going to get worse .. we have to learn that if God allows and permits things He is going to sustain and keep and preserve in those conditions. No matter how far this goes – and indeed we only need read the scriptures to see what it is going to be in the last days – we have to remember that God will preserve and keep else nobody will stand – nobody will survive.

I know that that is not rocket science but it is a fact, and God wants it to be a source of comfort and help to us. Having said that introduction I’m calling this teaching today ‘God Will Teach Us What Spirit We Are Of’ and I want to turn to appeal to this in Jude verses 16-19. This is speaking of the Last Days – the apostasy that was being predicted and prophesied here hundreds and hundreds of years earlier ..

 Apostasy Predicted

Jude 1:16-18
16 These are grumblers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts; and they mouth great swelling words, flattering people to gain advantage. 17 But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ: 18 how they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts. 19 These are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit.

Now let me say in passing that this is speaking primarily to professing believers – to the church. It is also – in the context – part of the falling away. So as in the world we are seeing a falling away – an apostasy so it effects those who profess themselves as believers.

If the world is fine, prospering – no problems persecutions of trials then that outwardly will happen in professing Christendom the reason we are learning in scripture why God is going to take the brakes off the world – society as we know it – because it is going to expose the House of God .. it exposes those who are relying on the world – its ways its customs standards – everything that the world produces – it exposes what sort of spirit we are of – what we’re really believing and who we’re looking to.

This great falling away is in order that God’s remnant will stand and hold fast to the truth. One of the reasons why the overcomers will be

able to hold fast to the truth is that they have that inner knowing and understanding of what spirit they are of ….. ……
