To walk by faith means that we are completely dependent on Him bible teaching– we have placed our whole being, our whole future, our whole destiny – everything about us – our emotions, what we go through, our feelings, everything is placed into His mighty hands.

And that is what He’s working in us in which to trust Him and to walk this faith walk. And that’s why I’m calling this teaching tonight ‘Gods Will Can Include Suffering’

Turn with me if you will brothers and sisters to 1Peter chapter 4 and verse 19. I will just actually lead into this so that we can get into the context of what Peter is saying here to these early Christians. And so I’ll take it up from verse 16 of 1Peter chapter 4…

16 Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter.

17 For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?

18 Now

“If the righteous one is scarcely saved,
Where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?”

19 Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls to Him in doing good, as to a faithful Creator.

It’s verse 19 that I want to talk on tonight but I wanted to just lead into this because what he’s saying back in verse 16 is that if any of us suffer – and we go throuh much trial and tribulation as it says in the Book of Acts – in which to make it into the Kingdom of God.

All true believers in Christ are or will in some way go through trials, but it is for a reason and for a purpose as we’re going to open up tonight. And so he says here

Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter.

And here we beging to get the idea of what the apostle is saying to these early Christians. He’s saying ‘most if not all of you are suffering – but don’t be ashamed, don’t be embarrassed, don’t run away from it…….
