Ephesians 2:19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
Rooted In The Body Of Christ
.. This is where God dwells and we should not be ashamed of that. We should be jealous over that, that should be something we are proud of. This is where God dwells because this is where my life is changed.. my life is touched.. is different every time we meet together. That should be an experience and if a church is not experiencing that then it has to stop and find out where it is going wrong. A grounded and rooted faith requires Christ’s Body and this is the least understood. This seems to be a huge blockage to many Christians – understanding the true Body of Christ. Our faith to be grounded and rooted needs the Body of Christ.
An Attitude For Growth
This is where He changes us.. touches and delivers us – for that very purpose – it’s all part of it.. There are so many Christians today who say ‘ I walk my walk with God, I walk with Him, I’ll go to this church or that church if I feel it’s right. ‘ I’m sorry but that isn’t scriptural. You aren’t going to grow with that attitude.. This is why it’s very difficult to try and get this one over to a lot of believers, particularly those who are being damaged by ministry or eldership or whatever it is. They build a barrier that they’re not going to trust anyone or anything anymore. ‘ I’m only going to trust The Lord. ‘ That’s a big one and the enemy is very good at doing that.
Broken Wings
I remember The Lord showing me years back when I enquired of Him about this ‘ Lord how do I as a Pastor get over that one, I’m meeting so many damaged Christians? ‘ The Lord gave me a most wonderful vision where I saw doves – pure white beautiful doves. They started to use their wings and flutter – just managing to get off the ground but would come back down. They would try again but would keep coming back down. I said ‘ Lord these doves are not flying. ‘ The Lord said ‘ look closer ‘ and as I looked closer one of the wings was broken. The Lord said ‘ I’ve called you to such an hour in which I’m going to heal those wings through your ministry. It was profound and I’ve never forgotten that.. .. ..
Colossians 2:6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
