It's His Faith We Believe By

I want to talk today on faith and the title for this teaching is ‘ It’s His Faith We Believe By ‘. I am convinced that that is why our Lord at times came hard on the disciples..as he does with us. Because our faith to believe is a gift. It comes to those who search with all their heart. Jesus said if you do that you will find me.

People say ‘I can’t believe’ or various excuses.. Nothing redemptive happens without faith. This faith is always there for every trial and situation. The problem is as we know is that we get in the way.

HEART AFTER GOD

Faith calls and is freely extended to us in each of the daily trials and situations of life. The Jesus disciple grasps this and so runs forward to meet each challenge in His faithfulness. The Bride is seeking her Kinsman Redeemer – His vision is written upon her heart.

Jeremiah 29:13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

‘Why is it that I don’t have faith?’ is the wrong question. We should be asking ‘What is hindering me from receiving His faith?’ Many despondent and visionless question and criticise – the fear of ‘what if’ buried deep within.

..That is why the deeper life teaching in nature is deliverance..from all the obstacles and hindrances to faith..To abandon control to God. We are all still a work in progress.

It’s His faith we believe by. Whatever we find ourselves in – faith will wait for the vision. Faith rests – faith doesn’t question God’s sovereign actions. Despite appearances faith relies on the fact that God never gets it wrong.

HABAKKUK’S VISION

I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. Habakkuk 2:1
And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. Habakkuk 2:2
For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Habakkuk 2:3
Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith. Habakkuk 2:4

‘Habakkuk’ means to embrace or wrestle. ‘How long Lord will Israel abandon you and follow after other gods?’ ‘When are you going to reveal your glory?’ Many Christians feel this as the world falls rapidly away.

FAITH COMES WITH A VISION

“..Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it ..the vision ..shall speak, and not lie..it will surely come ..the just shall live by his faith [His faithfulness].”

God is making His vision plain on the tablets of our hearts so that we keep moving forward towards it. Overcome the lethargic inactivity of delay – live and run by His faithfulness towards the vision! This is how God is preparing us for that very vision – the revelation of His glory!

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6
By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. Hebrews 11:8
These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. Hebrews 11:13
Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Habakkuk 3:17
Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. Habakkuk 3:18
The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. Habakkuk 3:19
