I Have Come With A Sword | Take Up Your Cross | Video

“..Today’s teaching and title – ‘ I Have Come With A Sword ‘ and that is what the Spirit comes [as] where two or three are meeting together in His presence – Jesus said here am I. And He comes with the sword.

And this sword is to be used and He does use it and He knows how to use it. I want to open up today about this sword. Because we find it hard at times to assume that Christ who is love grace and mercy – a lamb slain from the foundation of the world comes to us also with a sword.

We’re not always happy with receiving that side of God. Because so many believers today just want to hear the love of Jesus, and rightly so, rightly so He is love, He’s perfect love. But we also know that love presents truth. We also have to accept the fact that Jesus presents Himself in many ways.

The Lion And The Lamb

I Have Come With A Sword

…’Lion of the Tribe of Judah’. He’s like a lion, and we all know what a lion is like. He also comes as a dove, He’s gentle, peaceable. The Holy Spirit presents Christ to us in His entirety, and I think we need to remember this.

You see, many want to be baptised in the Holy Spirit and we give this analogy of being baptised in the Holy Spirit… Because there are many that believe that when you’re born again you’re [also] baptised in the Holy Spirit. But scripture clearly shows that … the baptism is another experience.

There are many experiences to be had walking with Christ. The nearest analogy we can give to this is that when you are born again He is with you but when you are baptised in the Holy Spirit He is in you. And you certainly know it if you are truly baptised in the Holy Spirit.

But today’s title is ‘ I Have Come With A Sword. ‘ We’re going to base our teaching today on Matthew chapter 10 and we’re going to look at verses 34 through to 39. We know these scriptures very well but I believe again the Lord wants to open up further…..
