What are we sowing into our minds – what is taking root. Scripture says that we have the mind of Christ. Let The Holy Spirit minister with regard to that and in due season we shall reap.
Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
Galatians 6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Galatians 6:10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
THE EYE GATE IS THE DOORWAY TO THE SOUL
These verses are revealing how we are walking as Christians. They are revealing what we are looking at..how we are sowing. What are we sowing into our minds?
The battle for the believer is in the mind – that is the battleground. Each day we face decisions with regard to these battles in the mind as to whether these thoughts are to take root or not.
In these last days the mind of man is becoming more corrupt confused and deceived. The god of this age is working overtime oppressing and holding the minds of most. The victory is won or lost in the mind.
Today there is so much to feed and excite the lusts of the flesh and technology is gripping. We cannot feed the flesh and reap of the Spirit. The eyegate is the door into the soul of man and affects our sowing and reaping. We are affected by what we see.
For example spiritual confusion results from reading too many ‘Christian’ books containing errors. If you have a godly fear of what you are daily sowing and reaping then you are going to draw from the bread of life that will cause you to overcome all this.
FEEDING ON THE WORD IS SOWING TO THE SPIRIT
John 6:51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
The bible – God’s Word is more powerful than any of mans weapons and anything we see or hear. If we take Gal.6:7-10 seriously then we are going to stay with God’s Word – whatever. It is going to be our source of food – meditation reading and hearing.
WHAT IS CONTROLLING AND INFLUENCING YOUR LIFE?
Self will can look for so much to distract us from this continuous and compelling need to feed on the Living Word – ‘give me a break’. But every morning when we wake up it’s not about my will any longer. It’s about God’s will – today! Are we being led by the flesh or by the Spirit?
What was influencing your life last week. Family and friends who have no real love for the Lord draw us away from the household of faith. Sometimes the Lord will give us free reign to see where our hearts and affections really lie.
Have we grown weary in well doing? Those who sowed to the flesh did not reap everlasting life. They were not willing to let the cross do that work. It’s simply yielding over to what He says to us.Pastor Kim L. Page
