Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness. Psalm 107:8,9
..It’s good to give thanks to the Lord – it’s good to be appreciative because also this is going to make us effective in prayer and in warfare. You cannot go into warfare binding the enemy if you are not somebody who is grateful.. who is thankful.. who doesn’t really praise the Lord. It should just be automatic. You see what I’m talking about is what comes out of our innermost being – those rivers of living water that just come out from us. And this is all part of it and we know the importance of water because it quenches the thirst.. waters the land so that it will be fruitful. That should be spiritually our lives and our witness.
Christians Are Thankful
It’s a very bad witness.. a Christian who professes themselves a Christian who gripes and moans – and is not thankful or appreciative. It is a very bad witness. Sadly we’ve seen it in the House of God. We might even have done it ourselves. God has had mercy on us to pull us up – to show us that this is such a bad witness. And of course it doesn’t give glory to God. But as I close with this the reason that I stress this also is because this can effect your confession. It affected the confession of the Children of Israel and it will affect your confession as well.
Thanks Confession And Faith
If you are not a saint who gives thanks to the Lord – who is not appreciative – then it’s going to affect your confession and your belief in the promises of God’s Word. And this is why you find that your prayers are not getting answered or you’re still battling a lot of unbelief. There is the problem – it’s because you don’t give thanks to the Lord – you’re not praising Him – you’re not appreciative. And when this happens it will affect your confession. It will affect your belief in the Word of God. We know in the Word of God that what a man confesses so is he. And so if you confess the negative then that is what you are. We have to be on our guard what comes out of our mouth.. .. ..
