Keep Asking Seeking Knocking | Dependency Upon God | Video

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. Matthew 7:7-12

..Our salvation – the new birth that we’ve received – throws us not only entirely on Him but it throws us into asking. In many ways it’s our spiritual survival. I went through a period some years back when I found myself saying to The Lord:.. ” Lord I’m sorry about this, here I am again asking various things. It’s time to move on, I don’t need to ask – You know everything. ” ..And The Lord admonished me on that:.. ” I have left you in this world of sin, iniquity (Satan is the god of this world) for the very purpose that you ask me. I make no mistake. ” ‘ Keep Asking Seeking Knocking. ‘

Faith Relationship And Asking

..And I had to learn a big lesson because I thought I was being pious. I thought I was being humble.. doing the right thing, that this was a sign of growing up and of maturity. No, God intends us to ask because asking is our spiritual survival. I had never seen it like that until He revealed it to me in that way. It was a great deliverance for me I might add. So God does expect us to ask and to ask in faith. This asking comes out of a relationship with Him and a great understanding of The Word Of God. That is why we spend time in The Word Of God.. As faith comes by hearing that Word so it causes us to rise up and ask – which He asks us to do.

Dependency On God

But many many times we seem only to ask when it goes from bad to worse. We somehow are not very keen on asking seeking and knocking until it gets really really bad then we find we ask God. Otherwise we’ll try to do it independently – by ourselves, and we wonder why we fall flat on our face and nothing happens. Asking is our spiritual survival in this life.

John 11:22 But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. John 14:12-14
Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses. Mark 11:24-26
John 16:23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
John 5:15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. James 1:5-8
James 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
