“…Well tonight I’d like to share with you ‘The Lord Give You Revelation And Understanding

Jeremiah 29 verse 13

• And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

…He expects a response of faith from us, and as we give that He opens our eyes and ears and heart…I want to look at some scriptures first to bring us into this…Turn with me if you will to 1st Corinthians chapter 1.

Paul wrote several letters, in fact 3 to the Corinthian church. Corinth was a place for intellectuals and learning, and they prided themselves in this.

… The apostle..comes to this church boasting in only one thing – Christ – and if there’s any one thing that God will let the Christian boast about and do – that is to boast in the Cross.

..we’ll take it up – let’s read verse 18 of 1 Corinthians chapter 1

• 18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

• 19 For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”

…So we see clearly here that our understanding of God is by grace and mercy. It’s nothing we’ve worked for, it’s nothing to do with education, what we’ve worked for, who we are…

..And so our boasting is in the cross of Jesus Christ. Why the Cross, well the gospel is about the cross, the cross that Christ went to in the eyes of the world, but it is also the cross that we too take up and follow daily. I will enlighten on this a bit more as we go on.

… And we take it up in verse 26 of the same chapter

• 26 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called.

… Here we see how God works – why does God work in this way? One thing that comes to mind – He’s not going to allow His precious Holy Spirit, His Word.. become sensual..As I said on Sunday faith is a higher knowledge, a higher understanding.

Human thinking is limited, it’s only to this world. This thinking throught faith pertains to the Kingdom, and that’s why we look to the Kingdom – God’s Kingdom..

• Matthew 6:10  Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

..as He teaches us in the Lord’s prayer

And all it’s [the world’s] intellect, all it’s man made theories, evolution – are passing.  This is why we are being granted and given through the Holy Spirit an understanding of God and His ways – preparing us for His Kingdom… …”
