He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. Psalm 91:15
With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. Psalm 91:16
Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. James 1:12
..You call upon Him and He says ‘ I will answer ‘. You know He will answer. Do you know why? Because you love Him and He loves you. That is where our faith is.. where our prayers are answered. Because love will answer. Love will not deny – will not say no. That is the nature of it.
What does Psalm 119 say..
O how I love thy law! it is my meditation all the day. Psalm 119:97
So there we are – we love Him because we love His Word. We love His Word because we read such promises.. These convince us – influence us through the Word of God. That’s why we make so much of the Word of God in this assembly because faith comes by hearing, reading this Word.
Keeping With It
What does it say in the Gospel of John? Turn with me to the Gospel of John chapter fourteen verse fifteen.
John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
In other words ‘ keep with it – be faithful – stay with it – I know it looks bad – it’s gone from bad to worse. But just stay there – just keep looking to me – talking to me – and we’ll get through. ‘ And you know what – we do. We do because He’s faithful you see. But we’re going to be tested on our love for Him. Make no bones about it, if you want to be an overcomer – a son of God – you’re going to be tested on this. Let’s look for example at one John chapter four and verse nineteen.. ..
