Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it? John 6:60
When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you? John 6:61
John 7:15 And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?
John 7:16 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
John 7:17 If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
We need to be spiritual, we need to be people who walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh to understand the deeper truths – the Deeper Life. Otherwise we become offended. You see to walk by faith and have this spiritual understanding – this comes by obedience. The only way you have faith – the only way you can understand the revelation of God’s Word is that you obey it. You have a heart to obey it. ‘ Obedience Brings Knowledge And Understanding. ‘
A Heart To Obey
Hebrews 5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
Hebrews 5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
And if not then you will intellectually try to persue and study it. If you don’t have that heart to live God’s Word then you try to intellectually assimilate and workout the Word of God. And you don’t fully understand it. This is why there is so much confusion in the House of God. And I wish more preachers would teach this. That the only way that we can understand God’s Word is that we have a heart – a desire to obey it. Otherwise we don’t have the revelation – the understanding – the blessing. We don’t walk by faith.
Romans 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
Slaves To Obedience
If we become slaves to obedience then we have eternal life and blessing. And what is it going to bring – that knowledge and understanding which at times we crave for and want because we want to go deeper with the Lord. So I’m a slave to obedience – I submit myself to obey. That’s what I’m doing willingly. Just as I take up my cross daily and follow the Lord so I’m willingly submitting myself to that exercise – to that discipline of obeying. God by His mercy and grace is working that within my life. And He will, if you want that He’s going to do that. He’ll move heaven and earth for that. That’s the very thing he wanted out of Adam and Eve. And it’s the very thing that He wants out of you and me. That is what pleases Him more than anything.. ..
