Our Salvation is a Complete Union With God
2 Corinthians 5:17
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Salvation is not just deliverance from sin … there is so much more to our salvation. We’re not seeing saints maturing in the faith as they should because they’re not really seeing and grasping what their union is with God.
Salvation is not just deliverance from sin, holiness,
promises of God’s Word … in its full context it is a deliverance from self unto a complete union with Christ that is God … so where does it seem to go wrong? Why is it somehow something we have learnt in theology but are not experiencing?
It’s not rocket science to learn this is something that the Bride of Christ – who is making herself ready – is going to see and experience …. that is why she is betrothed to Him. …
When my wife was saved even the grass looked greener and the sea bluer – anything the world had to offer paled into insignificance, her new birth revealed and pointed to something greater than herself. His will became her will, His desires become her desires – a hunger for the Word of God which is Jesus.
The new convert with a heart for God is first baptised in the Holy Spirit for the empowerment to walk daily in union with Christ, it is not a forceful takeover, it is first love and total surrender.
The church at Ephesus lost their first love with serious consequences
Revelation 2:4-5 Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. 5 Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent.
John 15:5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing … v8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.
The disciple remains attached in love and complete dependence on Christ – drawing on His health His Word His heart of love to embrace the unloveable – nothing can be done without the abiding experience of complete union with God
Moment by moment I’m kept in His love
Moment by moment I’ve strength from above
Looking to Jesus ’till glory doth shine
Moment by moment O Lord I am thine
