promises of God’s Word … in its full context it is a deliverance from self unto a complete union with Christ that is God … so where does it seem to go wrong? Why is it somehow something we have learnt in theology but are not experiencing?

Revelation 2:4-5 Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. 5 Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent.

The disciple remains attached in love and complete dependence on Christ – drawing on His health His Word His heart of love to embrace the unloveable – nothing can be done without the abiding experience of complete union with God
