Satan As The Tempter | It Is Written | Only Believe | Video

And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. Matthew 4:6

..You see Satan wanted to destroy the House of God. He wanted Jesus to kill Himself over His own House. This is the irony of it all. He said to Him ‘ throw yourself down.. ‘ And here it is – he starts to quote scripture.. The enemy can quote scripture but he quotes it in a cunning way because he’s asking you to do something. In many ways he’s trying to get you to put God to the test. Subtle – cunning you see. Jesus knew what Psalm ninety one said.. ‘ Satan As The Tempter. ‘

There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. Psalm 91:10
For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. Psalm 91:11

They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Psalm 91:12

..He knew His protection – He knew He wouldn’t throw Himself down.. Wouldn’t commit suicide. He didn’t have to put God to the test even though this was the Word of God being spoken – because He believed it. He knew that God would bear Him up – He didn’t have to have proof.

Only Believe

And that is how the devil subtly works. He tries to trick us – ‘ you need to have proof – you need to have a sign. You need to test God to see whether this Word is really true. After all, how will you know? ‘ Does that sound familiar – of course it does. We don’t need to test any of this, it has been tried and tested. It stands firm, all God ever asks is for us to believe it. Never ever put God to the test! It’s a dangerous thing to do and I’ve heard some christians do it. Never do that – the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. Then He goes on in verse seven.. ..
