Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. Flee fornication. ..And this is why God owns us now. You see the power of the Holy Spirit in many ways is an extension of yourself. It’s like you stand aside and see what’s working through you. That’s the only analogy I can give in this. When you are empowered by the Holy Spirit it’s like an extension. It’s part of you and it’s like if you stand aside you’ll see what’s working through you. Now I can identify with that because I’ll tell you something. For many years I couldn’t listen to myself preach. I couldn’t listen to the recordings. I don’t know why – it just didn’t happen – it didn’t really appeal to me and so on. ‘ The Cross Reveals I Am Not My Own. ‘
The Holy Spirit Works Through You
It has only been this last couple of years that I’ve been able now to listen to myself preach. The only experience I can say is it’s like I stand aside and I see something that works through me that I can’t do. Of course I believe that to be the power of the Holy Spirit. So that is what I’m meaning. When God works through you, when He asks of you to do whatever He’s going to do you can’t fully work it out. It’s not until you listen or you watch or if it’s recorded – you are aware that there is a power an extension that works through you. That is what I’m trying to say. That is the experience of the power of the Holy Spirit.
The early church in the Book of Acts knew what I’m talking about here. They knew that power that went from them when they laid hands on the sick and they recovered, or when the cripple rose up and walked. They saw that as an extension – a power working through them. And that is what it is – it is Christ in you doing the works. He’s come back – He’s still alive! The world sees it when we in faith and obedience do what He asks of us. Then the world sees this, and that is why we don’t want to take the glory. That is why we don’t want to take the thanks.. We always point them to the one who has done this and that is the Lord Jesus Christ who is alive today.. .. ..
