The Fatal Flaw | Don’t Look Back! | Video

And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed. And Lot said unto them, Oh, not so, my LORD: Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast shewed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die: Behold now, this city is near to flee unto, and it is a little one: Oh, let me escape thither, (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live. And he said unto him, See, I have accepted thee concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow this city, for the which thou hast spoken. Haste thee, escape thither; for I cannot do anything till thou be come thither. Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar. The sun was risen upon the earth when Lot entered into Zoar. Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven; And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground. But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt. Genesis 19:17-26

..Those that train in these races have to have their eyes fixed on the goal.. That’s what we’re doing, that’s what the apostle Paul encouraged the churches to do.. It’s all clear signs we’ve put our hands to that plough and we are not going to look back even though we’re tempted to at times.. ‘ The Fatal Flaw. ‘

The Fatal Flaw
Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed. In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back. Remember Lot's wife. Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it. Luke 17:30-33

‘ Remember Lot’s wife ‘

.. that is so important that Jesus Himself refers to that situation.. how Lot’s wife turned into a pillar of salt – because it is so important. He doesn’t want His disciples committing the fatal flaw..

And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house. And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. Luke 9:61-62

A Matter Of The Heart

..Sadly that disciple.. he had that one fatal flaw in his commitment.. ‘ let me first go bid them farewell. ‘ And Jesus said ‘ no good, no good – you’ve missed it, you have not seen it. You have revealed to me your heart isn’t totally with me. ‘..

By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king's commandment. By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible. Hebrews 11:23-27

Total Commitment

..Why does God bring this up? Why so severe..? Because God wants us to have the confidence – the absolute assurance – that our walk with Him is one hundred and one percent committed.. This helps you with your faith – with your believing, overcoming, your trials your tests. You know within your heart that you are committed to The Lord and that The Lord is committed to you. You will never know God’s commitment and love to you as He wants you to know until you are also committed to Him. And then it is a two way relationship.. .. ..
