So the work of the Holy Spirit, the one who sanctifies us – sets us apart – is a working to make us whole in spirit soul and body. A complete work. And that is the nature of the Deeper Life. That is why we hold to all the promises of God including healing and deliverance – salvation. ‘ The Holy Spirit Preserves Us Whole. ‘

It is a whole message. That is what sanctification – meaning to be set apart – is all about. The whole work of the Holy Spirit works in the deep regions of our whole being. The Holy Spirit works in our heart, in those areas that doctors and psychologists cannot get to. That is what He does.

He is the God of every experience that we go through, and the inner work within our lives. Those deep areas that we don’t know ourselves. That is where He’s working.

We get a glimpse of this in a wonderful Psalm – I’m not going to read it all but do read it in your quiet time. Psalm 139 which simply clarifies what we’re talking about here today. This shows you just how great God is and that you’re made in His image. Nothing passes His vision – His eyes..

O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me.
Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.
For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.
Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.

Psalm 139:1-6

And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
