The secret prayer life door must be closed to the clutter of the cares of the world for you are coming into God’s presence to worship and wait before Him.
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1
We need to learn that God loves privacy with each one of us. It is our consecration – a place where it is just you and God. But sadly few move into this experience. The new birth is to bring us into a living relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ where the bride is to make herself ready. This secret place is where the courting couple can be together and talk, plan and look to the future. The Jesus disciple’s destiny is not this world which is passing away.
Matthew 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Our first desire should be to talk to almighty God and not just to be known as a praying person. The goal of prayer moves beyond prayer needs. Prayer is between the disciple and his/her father and takes place in the ‘secret place of the Most High. The door to the secret place must be closed to the clutter of the cares of the world. Fears and worries, family, work…. Genuine prayer burdens come by the Holy Spirit only after and as a result of this focus on Him.
Genuine Prayer Comes By The Holy Spirit
Isaiah 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
Matthew 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
Do you have need of finances – it will flow as a result. Do you have need of healing – it will flow as a result. God knows that we need to be kept in health to walk this walk, to be able to look after our family. To be able to come to church, that is why by Jesus stripes we were healed at Calvary. These things come when we have no other motive other than to praise and worship Him. Look to Jesus and to no one else. God wants us to be so fulfilled by His presence and love that everything and everyone else is secondary. That is the goal of the Christian walk.
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Matthew 6:33
