For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Ephesians 6:17
..I could give a huge list of these things where these thoughts these influences still try to control us. And the way we get the deliverance from this is through the Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God..
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17
The Word Delivers
..It is our deliverance. We sometimes fail to understand that the Word of God is our deliverance – it is our healing. We know it certainly is our manna – our spiritual food for our survival, but we’re not so good at seeing it also as delivering me and healing me.
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12
Secondly as we look at this the Word of God is living and powerful.. because it has to be sown into the heart. The seed of the Word of God has to come in power and in anointing to be effective – to be sown into the heart. That’s why I always keep saying one of the greatest parables Jesus gave was the Parable of the Sower. And we’ve recited this many many times. The seed has to go into the heart if it is to bring forth fruit – if it’s to heal us and deliver us sustain us and enable us to walk by faith. And we have to take that one very seriously.
The Word In The Heart
That is why we as overcomers should be around the Word of God. It should be our source of study and meditation. It is not enough to have the Word.. when you come to these meetings.. There is an anointing that God places tonight today that is absolutely right for us. But there is also a place where it’s between you and God and His Word where He speaks to you personally. You need that as well as to learn the Word of God and even to memorise it so that we use the Word.. in our witness in our sharing.. so.. we can appeal to it. I need the influence of God’s Word to make what I’m sharing effective because it is that two edged sword.. .. ..
And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things saith he which hath the sharp sword with two edges; I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan's seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth. Revelation 2:12-13
And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. John 16:23-24
And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. Acts 3:16
And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead. Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God. Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. Revelation 3:1-3
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. James 1:22
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. 1Timothy 4:1-5
