The Word And The World Do Not Mix

Love Not The World

Identifying with The Word

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

The Word Of God that I hold in my hands is more real than what I see feel and touch.  It is reality –

The Word And The World Do Not Mix

eternal.  Everything of the world I see around me has a life span and will eventually disappear.

A recipe shows us how to produce something and all its contents are to complement each other, likewise the received Word is to be mixed with faith to produce God’s life in us.  Sometimes that word ‘faith’ can be a little bit abstract, it means that your whole being, your life, your commitment, your consecration is relying upon and mixing with the Word of God.  Nothing – no substance of you – is left out of the mixture, you are identifying completely with The Word.

Mixing Faith with The Word

Hebrews 4:1-2 Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it. For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.

Israel in the desert failed in that one vital thing, she didn’t mix faith with that which she heard and so that generation perished in the wilderness – remaining in fear and unbelief, emotions and feelings.   We too have the choice to either move forward in faith or run away in fear.

‘Lord please help me to mix faith with that which I hear.’

Is not God going to answer your prayer?  We know that if we prayed a prayer like that we couldn’t doubt if we tried.  God can get us to a place so that when we pray or lay hands upon the sick we can’t doubt, because it’s God’s Word and we’re mixing faith not worldly desire with what we’re hearing.  Pray over and prepare your heart for the Word.

Surrender to The Word Triggers Faith

You don’t try to believe, you  don’t try to sit on your chair, you instinctively surrender or yield your weight to it.  Only a life surrendered to God will mix faith with The Word.  Believing is a rest with Almighty God, trying to believe is a jarring warning – a stop sign – a contradiction symptomatic of love of the world, compromise and idolatry.

1 John 2:15-17 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

The surrendered heart is continually beating out the right response to the Living Word within.

 The Living Word

John 1:1-5 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

John 1:14-16 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

15 John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.’”

16 And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace.

Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet, And a light to my path.

The nature of a lamp is that you can walk with it at night, it is to show each footstep,   you trust Him for every step you take in this world.  The Living Word is not just printing on pages, this Word is breathed out to us by the life and love of God Almighty Himself.  This is His will for our lives, for the world and for the future.

The Word of God became flesh that we could partake of His fullness – that The Word might live in us.  Why do we doubt, and look to other sources?  We are saved because we walk by faith!

My life is sustained and held by the Living Word who lives in me.  I walk by faith and cannot rest until all trust and affection  for the world is dealt with.

What have I done to deserve this?  That my eyes and ears and heart have been opened to receive the life of God’s Word changing me deep within. I desire to dialogue, to ask, to understand Him more ..

Faith is a consecration to the Word of God, has He shown me an area to surrender?  Do I offer up to God what I have heard?  Do I go before God in prayer and talk about it?  Offer the Word with which He has graciously blessed back to Him in agreement.

Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
