And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2Thessalonians 2:8-12
The Truth Of The Word
.. And that’s why we’re calling this teaching today ‘ There Must Be A Love For The Truth. ‘ It’s not enough just to have a love for The Word.. but also a love for the truth of The Word. We so often miss out that word ‘truth’; we have to have a love for the Word of God which reveals the truth. The truth of the heart of man.. the nature of sin and how it has separated God from man. We need a love for The Word which reveals the glory and majesty of God.
A Heart For Truth
There are many people who like The Word – gather around and labour in The Word – but I raise the question whether they have a love for that which they study. You have to have that affection. If you love God with all your heart soul mind and being then you love what He shows. That is what the Apostle touches on here. It’s in the context of the Last Days and the rising of The Antichrist – that they will be deceived, deluded because they do not love the truth.
Love Trust And Truth
.. In that case God says He sends a strong delusion. They might know The Word and quote The Word, but they are not loving what God is revealing – what God is giving in The Last Days to give us wisdom to walk by faith and not by sight. This is why the faith teaching is so essential. This is what sorts out the men from the boys because we know that Christendom only goes so far with faith. If we love the truth then the truth also reveals to us to trust God. It doesn’t matter whether you trust God taking your last breath.. .. ..
But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Matthew 15:24
And with many such parables spake he the word unto them, as they were able to hear it. But without a parable spake he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples. Mark 4:33,34
