God is a jealous God and will not share the disciple’s affection. Anything short of total love for God is spiritual adultery and God is a consuming fire. An honest and ardent prayer life is an imperative not an option.

Well tonight I want to call our teaching for those of you who take notes ‘Total Love For The Father’ and in many ways this is really a teaching on discipleship – part of the Deeper Life teaching that God has given to us to help to encourage the body of Christ in this last day. You can go deeper if God, in fact with the baptism of the Spirit you can go as deep as you want. But in order to do that it has got to be a total commitment, a total love for the Father.
I want to base this teaching tonight on Luke 14 and verse 26 ..
Luke 14:26
26 “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple.
Here Jesus is challenging His disciples to leave all .. to follow Christ, and some of course literally left all … but the inner principle is to leave all in our heart so there is nothing in our heart, no affection or idolatry that – when the Lord comes .. appears – will hold us back in any way. That is ultimately what this is all about and again this is another aspect of the Deeper life.
The Deeper Life is to prepare us which we believe that the Coming of the Lord is not far away and the signs are telling us.. we’re seeing the falling away now from all truth, we’re also aware that the Holy Spirit He’s preparing us.. The Bride is making herself ready around the world – there is a remnant who are coming out and are prepared to have a total love and commitment for the Father.
I want us to look at this challenging passage tonight in Luke 14 verse 26, here we are
shown that we’re to give the same devotion to Christ as He did to the Father – that love and obedience. It’s no different, the same devotion that Jesus had for His Father
when He walked this earth is also to be the same love and devotion that we should have for Christ aswell – it is not different.. .. ..
