Transaction of the Will

Transaction of the Will

<< ‘Transaction of the Will’ >>

… Well this evening I’ve got a title for those who are taking notes and it’s called ‘ Transaction of the Will ‘ and I will explain what I mean by this because we’re actually going to be talking about our will .. and we’ve got to remember that when man fell from the presence of God into sin sadly also his will did and of course the enemy was out to attack mans will because up until that point before man was deceived his will was to do God’s will – they were in perfect harmony.

When man fell into sin he realised there were choices to be made – he began to see that there is a will and he could choose do do what was right with that will or what was wrong – and of course their (Adam and Eve’s) testing in the garden was all to do with the will – obedience.

We’re going to look this evening at ‘ Transaction of the Will ‘ – have we deliberately committed our wills to the Lord .. that’s the focal point .. of this teaching tonight. We all of us grapple with doing the will of God. There’s not one saint if you’re truly born again and filled with the Spirit who has or if you haven’t will find that there is a grappling with the will doing God’s will. You find or will find that there is a battle on.  And so it is important that we deliberately commit our wills over to the Lord … …

… … So our wills are a transaction,  now this .. is not about emotions, emotion can have its place but we’re not talking about emotions here.  Before we go any further with this I want us to look at the Gospel of John 21

John 21:7-12

Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment (for he had removed it), and plunged into the sea. But the other disciples came in the little boat (for they were not far from land, but about two hundred cubits), dragging the net with fish. Then, as soon as they had come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid on it, and bread. 10 Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish which you have just caught.”

11 Simon Peter went up and dragged the net to land, full of large fish, one hundred and fifty-three; and although there were so many, the net was not broken. 12 Jesus said to them, “Come and eat breakfast.” Yet none of the disciples dared ask Him, “Who are You?”—knowing that it was the Lord.

disciple meaning

Have you ever had a crisis where you’ve just got to drop everything and do something? … Peter leaves everything … that impulse to seek the Lord … a crisis of the will … to at that moment drop everything …

…. … It [ Transaction of the Will ]  is deliberately choosing wanting desiring God’s will – you can only do that when you get quite and still before God.

There are some things that we have to work out with God that you can’t work out in a meeting … your answer is in the Word of

God … Keep listening to the Word because you will hear it … you’ve got to take that before God … and talk that out … get all emotions feelings out of the way …
