Understanding Our Errors | Facing Our Giants | Video

Let’s stop running from sin or shortcomings but rather confess our weaknesses before the Lord so that we can be made strong. God is so in control of your life and my life that He permits us to go through things as a means of creating in us a clean heart. Therefore  God works through our trials so that we don’t make these mistakes again.  He is changing our hearts of stone to hearts of flesh.  We are in this meeting tonight because God has worked in our hearts a desire to be here and to hear His Word.  Therefore we can take courage that God is working with us and putting these godly affections within us. ‘ understanding our errors.

Understanding Our Errors

God is in control

Romans 8:28

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Philippians 2:13

 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.

Being sensitive to our errors

Psalm 19:12-14

12 Who can understand his errors?
Cleanse me from secret faults.
13 Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins;
Let them not have dominion over me.
Then I shall be blameless,
And I shall be innocent of great transgression.

14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight,
O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.

Sin can so easily temporarily block our relationship with almighty God.  So  those truly saved start to discern and become very sensitive this.   Hence this is why it is important to keep close with the Lord and walk with Him.  And so whenever we have fallen short of the standard we come before Him to talk it out without delay.

Regular communication in the secret place is the means of our being kept clean and learning how to become sensitive to errors displeasing to God. The Holy Spirit works this  through exposure and dialogue to conform the overcomer to His sovereign plan.

Facing Our Giants

The Psalmist is in dialogue – he’s not running away from sin or shortcomings – the giants he faces.  Likewise we also need to discern understand and confess our weaknesses and giants before the Lord so that we can be made strong.  So the apostle Paul was never ashamed to confess his obstacles and weakness in the flesh because he saw that in recognising his weakness was his very strength to overcome.

Therefore this is what God is training us for – what He is trying to get from our heads to our hearts.  For the reason that our sensitivity to error is the very means of us overcoming our giants and enduring to the very end.

Distraction from the all sufficiency of the blood of Jesus is a trap to cause the overcomer caught in weakness to run away, but God makes no mistakes.

1 John 1:7-9

But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Coming Clean

How He changes our heart and affections I do not know but He does as we keep coming to Him.  So Keep communing with God to keep yourself clean.  In  Psalm 51 :1-2, 26:2  we see an earnest talk – coming clean with Almighty God  and asking for help, a sign of meaning business with God.

51 Have mercy upon me, O God,
According to Your lovingkindness;
According to the multitude of Your tender mercies,
Blot out my transgressions.
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,
And cleanse me from my sin.
