I’d like to continue on what we were looking at last week – ‘Great Blessings In The Unity Of God’s People … we began to look from Psalm 133 on our fellowship – the unity of the Spirit, and we began to show you last week how this was all part of restoration – God restoring His people under the divine headship of Christ, bringing us back into true oneness, unity and fellowship.

But not only that, this true unity and fellowship among the believers is indeed also restoring apostolic faith and restoring the gifts and the ministries so the Body of Christ begins to function again, not as an organisation but as an organism.  ..For this to be achieved it means the baptism of the believer into

the unity and oneness of the body in which not to be a spectator but to be used.  Not to just sit back and be entertained, but that you are being prepared prepared for ministry, you are being prepared for eternity.  

You are here because God is delivering us, conforming us to the image of His dear Son.  This is all the spiritual workings that the Holy Spirit is doing in bringing about this oneness and fellowship.

And we showed also last time in Ephesians 4 God is equipping in order for this unity and oneness to be achieved.  It can’t be done when you are just on your own, it can only be done when you are part of the bride of Christ, functioning, being placed there by the Spirit, coming under the ministries.  The ministries are perfecting us, so God is working this through human beings – this is what’s so wonderful about this.

We also cited from the Old Testament – Abraham and Lot where they had to divide and Abraham went one way and Lot went another because they couldn’t really get on – there was strife …
