Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world..
Resistance Is By Faith
..So this resisting him can only be achieved if you humble yourself (verse one) that He may exalt you in due time.. to resist him ‘steadfast in the faith.’ It takes the power of God working on your behalf to resist the powers of darkness.. Why through sufferings and trials – because we just don’t get it. We still think we can do it in our own strength. That is why we have to bow the knee because we are helpless without the power of God working on our behalf.. ‘ We Are Kept By God’s Power. ‘
..But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. 1Peter 5:6-11
Strength in Weakness
..That’s what your trials and tests do.. We have to go through the experiences to understand we are kept by God’s power.. Man’s power will not save him, that is called religion. We need the power of God to save us, ‘ Greater is He that is in you..’ That is why God weakens us.. allows trials for us to experience that we are kept by God’s power.. It gives Him all the glory.. ..
