We Don’t Know Ourselves Unless The Holy Spirit Reveals

The Process Of Being Saved

We Don't Know Ourselves Unless The Holy Spirit Reveals

Salvation Is A Sovereign Work And Will of God

The new birth is a radical change, a complete turning around.  From the moment of regeneration God works to bring the affections of the mind and brain, desire and thinking into line with the new man within.

Ephesians 1:4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,

1 Corinthians 6:20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

All Things Have Become New

 The process of Salvation bypasses all human reasoning, it is revolutionary – the disciple believes ( yields to, puts on and settles into a mindset that) he/she is a new creation who is made alive moment by moment on what the Holy Spirit reveals.

Colossians 3:10 and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him,

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

1 Corinthians 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.

Parables And The Secret Place

A man or woman is born again by receiving the seed of Salvation into the heart.  (Parable of The Sower, Matthew 13) and daily lives/grows – is being saved – only this way from then on.  The Spirit reveals/explains the Word of God to the disciple in the secret place when he/she is alone causing the seed to live and grow.

The principle of the parable of the sower operates daily for the would be disciple (even right now as we listen to/read this Word), he/she has a choice, a will to either pray the seed into the heart in the secret place (prayer life) or to ignore it.

1 Peter 1:23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever.

Mark 4:34 But without a parable He did not speak to them. And , when they were alone He explained all things to His disciples.

Matthew 13:35 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying:

“I will open My mouth in parables;
I will utter things kept secret from the foundation of the world.”

Lamentations 3:22-24 Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed,

Because His compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
24 “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“Therefore I hope in Him!”

John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Trials Are To Expose Sin

The Holy Spirit reveals/exposes through trials what is festering in the heart and as we are willing to confess it as wrong we close the door to sin, the enemy in our mind and our independent/false understanding of ourselves. It is wonderful how He changes us, how He puts those Godly affections within our hearts.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

Psalm 139:23-24

 23 Search me, O God, and know my heart;

Try me, and know my anxieties;

prayer

prayer

24 And see if there is any wicked way in me,
And lead me in the way everlasting.

1 Corinthians 2:9-12  9 But as it is written:

“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
