Your Labour Is Not In Vain

Your Labour Is Not In Vain

Every saint who is a disciple of the Lord and filled with the Spirit goes through periods where they wonder what it’s all about – whether what they are doing is really valid and giving God all the glory.  But God is moving us upwards and onwards to green pastures and is showing us that all our labouring in the past is not in vain but is always for a higher purpose and reason.

Only God builds in our lives, so often using the negative – the foolish things of the world to build our lives for the Kingdom of God. Our goal is the Kingdom and our trials are to build eternity into us, The theme here is resurrection:

1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

Steadfast

We need to know from the Lord that our labour is not in vain.  We are to stand firm in whatever situation we find ourselves depending solely on the mercy and grace of God who is faithful, we stand firm not on money, health or success but rather on God’s love.  We stand on His Word knowing that each day we walk by faith through the trials we are presented with, God is teaching us to stand firm in the midst of disaster.  Only God can keep us in what is outwardly negative hopeless ridiculous

Immovable

Let nothing move you, not the news – what you hear of see.  As a ship is anchored against the tide and storm so we remain upon the Rock of Jesus Christ.  Overcomers are to be sifted and shaken in order for them to know and experience that they are immovable….
